This year we have had another bunch of brilliant teams who have worked really hard to produce exciting and innovative rollercoasters. Each team member was assigned a role, and worked to a theme. We had two teams which went through to the final in Congleton, which was attended by more schools this year, and the competition was fierce. The Rollercoaster Challenge event is organised by Siemens, and we also run this alongside our Enrichment programme. We were thrilled to be given one of the prizes for creativity. This was awarded to the team, ‘Team Game Over’ (Ethan Owen, Callum Melrose, Joe Martin and Ted Beswick). Their rollercoaster was on 3 tiers and the scenery was very imaginative. The teams spent extra time at lunches and after school to fine tune the workings of their rollercoaster and perfect the scenery. The girls team (April Claydon -Bell, Sharnagh Dennehy, Kamile Saulyte and Amy Coates-Hammond) produced an amazing 2 tier Rollercoaster with the track going through a tree and an underwater theme too. We are so proud of all the teams who entered. Here’s to next year!
