Siemen’s Rollercoaster Winners!

This year the teams have worked extra hard to produce exciting and innovative rollercoasters.  Each team member was assigned a role, and worked to a theme.  We had two teams which went through to the final in Congleton, which was attended by more schools this year, and the competition was fierce.  The Rollercoaster Challenge event is organised by Siemens, and has also run alongside our Enrichment programme.  Imagine how fabulous we all felt when one of our teams was announced the WINNER of the whole event!  The winning team, ‘Prehistoric Sub Zero’ (Joe Lomas, Liam Belford and Harry White), spent extra time at lunches and after school to fine tune the workings of their rollercoaster and perfect the scenery.  The mammoth is a sight to behold!  Harry also composed and played their theme music, and the boys put together an amazing video to promote their Rollercoaster. They also won ‘Students’ Choice’ which was an excellent achievement.  Commiserations to the ‘Beatles’ team. Charlie Wiss, Elliott Wiss, Ben Ward and Charlie Jackson.
The mayor was impressed with their 3D printed Yellow Submarine.  They created an impressive video and all wore matching waistcoats to represent the Beatles.  We are so proud of all the teams who entered.  Here’s to next year!
