Spring term sporting activities

Here is a selection of the sporting activities experienced by Macclesfield Academy students this term.

Well done to our Year 7 and 8 athletics teams who represented the Academy at the recent Macclesfield District Indoor Athletics Competition. They were brilliant and were a credit to the school!

We were delighted to support East Cheshire Hospice’s Elf Run at the end of last term. Students have since received a certificate of thanks from East Cheshire Hospice for raising a very ‘elfie’ £703.21 for this very important local charity.

This photograph shows our Year 7 and 8 cricket team who took part in an indoor cricket competition earlier this term. The team played really well and enjoyed taking part in the competition.

We held an indoor athletics competition at the Academy for all our feeder primary schools earlier this term. It was a really successful event and our thanks go to all our student primary leaders who helped with the competition!

Thank you to Kevin who came in from Macclesfield Hockey Club to lead some sessions for Year 7 and 8 students.

Our Year 10 football team were really unlucky against Tytherington in the recent Macclesfield District Cup. They were knocked out from the competition, 2 – 1, with a goal in the last few minutes of the game! Better luck next time lads!
