Support for students who need it

Following the tragic death of Tyler Wolstenholme on 29th January, we are working hard to ensure that we have support in place for all of our students who need it.  Colleagues from the Visyon counselling service have been running a drop in service at lunch times and Tony Togneri from St George’s St Baptist church has been in school each day.

We will continue to do everything we can to meet the needs of our students.  Please let us know if you feel your son or daughter would benefit from help or support in any way.  The advice we have received is that children’s needs for support may emerge at different times over the next days, weeks and months.  We will, therefore, maintain an attitude of “watchful waiting”, keeping a close eye on all of our students and standing ready to find them support as and when they need it.  We are also very aware that for some students, the events of this week may revive memories of other losses they have experienced.  Again, please do not hesitate to let us know if your own son or daughter may be affected in this way.
