The show must go on!

When disaster struck and Music teacher Mr Dave Rodgers was forced to stay at home with labyrinthitis, the famous Macclesfield Academy Christmas Concert, which is traditionally performed not once but twice on the last day of term, was in danger of being cancelled. Up stepped a team of pupils led by Sam Moss, Amy and Alfie Reed, Harry Beswick , Kacie Lawton, Maddi Riseley and  Maddy Burton who insisted that the show must go on.

With only 2 hours to spare, Sam learned to play the piano parts that Dave was due to play. Then a full rehearsal was organised and carried out with Harry performing the sound check and Amy and Kacie, organising and supporting the artists.

The concert went ahead as planned and was a huge success. The students rose to the challenge magnificently and were a credit to the years of musical training Dave has given them.
