Cover Supervisor

Start date ASAP

Full time equivalent salary GBP £21,968 - £24,054 per year

Actual salary: £16,151.05 - 17,684.69

Hours: 32.5 per week. Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm (half hour unpaid lunch break)

Weeks: 38 (term-time only)

The Macclesfield Academy are seeking to recruit a Cover Supervisor. The role provides an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a future in teaching or to gain more experience of working with students in the classroom.

The role will include:

• Supervision of whole classes in the absence of a teacher

• Deliver lessons across a range of subjects following work set by the class teacher

• Keeping the children on task for the work they have been set and ensure it is completed

• Maintaining a purposeful learning environment in the classroom

• Working with small groups of students or individually on a one-to-one basis.

• To support students in and outside of the classroom

You should be educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent including Maths and English.

Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team of staff who provide additional support both in the classroom and in the wider context of the school.

This post will be paid at NJC Grade 5.

This post is working during term-time only. Routine working hours will be Monday to Friday, 6½ hours per day from 0830 until 1530, with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak.

Experience of working with pupils with a range of learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities is preferred but not essential.

Applicants must possess excellent communications skills and have good levels of competency in Mathematics, English and ICT. Applicants must be team players and be able to relate to a wide variety of people including staff, parents and outside agencies. You must also be able to respond promptly to teachers working under pressure of time.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good record of attendance and punctuality in previous employment and be of smart personal appearance.

You must be willing to undertake additional training as required to support your own professional development.
