Senior Leadership Team
Mr Mat Galvin - Head Teacher
Mr Galvin read Chemistry followed by a PGCE at the University of Sheffield before completing a Masters in Education whilst teaching Chemistry and outdoor education. He is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching. Mr Galvin has led in a variety of schools in the North of England, holds the National Professional Qualification in Executive Leadership and spends his weekends refereeing Rugby Union.

Mr Matt Nicholson - Deputy Head Teacher, Safeguarding Lead.
Responsible for: Behaviour, Attitudes and Discipline for Learning and Safeguarding.
Mrs Lydia Capey - Assistant Headteacher
Responsible for: Teaching & Learning, Professional Development, and Learning Behaviours.
Mrs Capey read Politics at university, and taught Economics for many years. She comes to the Macclesfield Academy having led a large and successful department in a leading sixth-form college.

Below is a full list of staff email addresses so that you can contact the relevant member of staff directly. Normally, staff will aim to respond to any emails within 72 hours.
