Sewing Club Complete New Clothes for Cambodia

The long standing TMA Sewing Club, run by Mrs Lucas, have recently finished their latest pieces of clothing to be given to children in Cambodia. 

A fantastic project, "Clothes for Cambodia" allows students at The Macclesfield Academy to learn and perfect a new skill, with purpose. During sessions, Mrs Lucas teaches students how to make clothes, from start to finish, beginning with the cutting of patterns to the intricacies of using a sewing machine to complete their pieces. 

The clothes made in these after school sessions are taken to Cambodia, where Mrs Lucas takes photos of the children receiving their new clothes, developing a wonderful link for students as they see the outcome of their work.
