Educational visits are an excellent opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom and give students a chance to apply their understanding of topics in a real world context!

Therefore, the science department are excited to share the variation of trips on offer in the Spring and Summer terms.

Chester Zoo

On Monday 6th March, Year 8 students will be visiting Chester Zoo to support their study around ecosystems, adaptations and the effect that humans are having on the world.

British Science Week

The 13th - 17th March is British Science Week - a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

During this week, the Science Department will be planning a range of different activities, all around this year's theme - connections!

Jodrell Bank

In April, Year 7 students will be travelling to Jodrell Bank as part of their topic on Space! Visiting the observatory will be a fantastic chance for them to see the workings of a world leading Science research institute, as they study space, light and sound waves.

Living things in Macclesfield

In the Summer term, Year 9 will be exploring Macclesfield to discover the different living things in our town and gain an understanding of the processes that Scientists use to find out!

Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding these visits in the coming months!
