The Macclesfield Academy joins The Sir John Brunner Foundation!

On Friday 1st December 2023, The Macclesfield Academy officially became a member of the family of schools that form The Sir John Brunner Foundation. 

The Macclesfield Academy joins other excellent education providers including: Sir John Deane's Sixth Form, Middlewich High School and County High School, Leftwich, within the Trust, which is driven by three core values: Excellence, Belonging and Partnership. 

Staff worked tirelessly for over a year to make sure that everything was in place for this exciting transition into a Multi Academy Trust, and this has now all paid off as colleagues from across the foundation came together for a celebration event at The Macclesfield Academy on Friday 1st December.

Joining the Sir John Brunner Foundation is a positive step forward for The Macclesfield Academy, as our teaching staff will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the foundation; developing practise in doing so, and several of our school leaders, who have now been appointed as 'Foundation Leaders in Education', will lead work for the Trust, allowing them to share and bring back ideas to benefit further development within our school. 

Equally exciting, in joining this family of schools, our students will benefit greatly. Pupils attending The Macclesfield Academy will now having access to one of the best sixth forms in the country, Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College, to add to their potential post 16 destinations, as well as continuing to benefit from the excellent teaching and support provided by our wonderful staff.

As a school, we feel excited and optimistic about what the future holds and feel that we have established a sustainable and long-term partnership to embed the great work that has taken place, and will continue to do so, at our school.
