TMA Rowers Take To The Water

The TMA Rowing Team took to the water for the last regatta of the season on Wednesday when they entered the All Aboard Youth Rowing Competition.  The Schools Regatta took place at Warrington Rowing Club wtih 68 teams representing 39 schools from the North of England.  The TMA Rowing team consists of eight Year 8 students : Mellie W, Bailey D, Isabella D, Grace G, Isabelle G, Phoebe H, Riley B and Logan H.

The competition was the culmination of weekly training sessions at Rudyard Lake with trainers Gareth and Jacqui from Leek Rowing Club.  

The regatta was well supported and even Olympic rower, Emily Ford, came along and brought her Olympic Bronze Medal to inspire the students!

Mr McCabe, who co-ordinates the TMA Rowing team said: "I am so proud of these students and the progress they have made in rowing.  Not only does it develop their physical strength, it teaches them about teamwork."
