TMA always tries to support its local primary schools and this last week has been a clear demonstration of how close we are to our feeder primaries.

The week started with our main Transition event for students joining us in September with students from many of the local schools including Ash Grove, Ivy Bank, St Johns, Hollinhey, Bollinbrook, Wincle, Park Royal, Puss Bank, Gawsworth, Christ the King and Broken Cross.

Tuesday was a rehearsal day for our Matilda performances next week which includes almost 100 students from Park Royal primary school participating in the show.

On Thursday, we hosted the Park Royal Sports Day and later in the afternoon we hosted the Love Music Trust when students from Prestbury, Adlington, Wincle, Rainow and Hollinhey came together to create wonderful music!  At the same time, other primary school students from Bollington St Johns, Marlborough, Vernon and Ivy Bank were participating in a School Games tennis event hosted at the Academy.

Mat Galvin, Headteacher said "we are so proud of our links with all the local primaries and it always makes transition so much easier for the students when they already know us.  However the success of these links relies on the support of our existing students and we have a wonderful team of student leaders and helpers.  None of these events would be possible without their dedication and support"

The Transition Day helpers have been rewarded this week with breakfast with the Headteacher, and ice-creams were gratefully received by the Sports Day support team!
