TMA Celebrates Year 11 Leavers in Emotional Farewell

The Macclesfield Academy today bid farewell to its Year 11 students following the completion of their final GCSE exams yesterday.

The morning began with shirt signing as the students shared farewell gifts and wrote final messages to one another.

A moving leavers' assembly then followed as form tutors delivered emotional speeches to their classes. They highlighted the unique achievements and growth of every single student which filled the hall with tears, laughter and fond memories.

"We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students," said Mat Galvin, Headteacher "They  have shown amazing spirit and we wish them the absolute best in their future endeavours."

The celebrations continue this evening at Macclesfield FC with a TMA v All Hallows girls' football match which kicks off at 6.15pm. The stadium will then host the highly anticipated annual Staff versus Year 11 game at 7pm.
